Happy Diwali <:-P to all my readers, have a fun filled and safe diwali.At last I tried my hands on traditional method of making halwa of Tirunelveli which is near to our home town. When ever we travel down south Tamilnadu we make sure to buy some halwa at Tirunelveli.I referred Raks kitchen to do it with some slight changes.I needed the sugar & ghee amount.The tricky parts are the caramelisation ,then the addition of water and continuous stirring.If we miss it the halwa may turn bitter.

Thakalai dosai alias tomato dosa is almost an instant version of dosai/crepes which does not require any fermentation like a regular one.Just the soaking time is needed for this which then after soaked just grind it and makes it.This goes well with all chutney and sambar.Even the kids get attracted by its red color of it. Since this recipe doesn't need any fermentation time except the soaking& grinding time one can make this dosa quickly. Theeyal is nothing but a gravy/kuzhambu made with spices ,deeply roasted coconut and tamarind juice. Bitter melon is fried and added to this to make it bitter gourd theeyal. Frying the bitter gourd  reduces the bitterness to a certain amount.I have added a small piece of jaggery to this gravy but you can omit it if you don't prefer sweetness.

Pesarattu is one of Andhra's delicacies which is made with moong dal and no urad dal is added to it.It is nutritious and high in fibre. While searching i read that this dosa is served along with upma in restaurants there but i just serve with coconut chutney.Since it has more fibre it will be hard to eat more that two and make us feel full in stomach. Fermentation is not required for this dosa variety you directly make dosa once you ground the batter only the soaking time. Do try this healthy dosa with mung beans.

After starting to write blog i go crazy :Dover probs and baking supplies,when ever i saw any baking pan/baking accessories i immediately grab one for me.I have some collections of it yet my craze doesn't end even now if i sit down to browse i look in :-w for baking pans/dishes in online stores.This mini bundt pan i got when we went to Dubai and a pie cum bundt cake pan also.It was quite a long time i haven't used since i bought it so decided to bake a cake when i made the butterscotch sauce.Trust me both the sauce and cake was soo yummy and my daughter use to lick the sauce daily.
