Diwali is round the corner and I could see loads of sweets and savouries in blogosphere and I'm enjoying the virtual treat of it.Though we don't celebrate it on seeing all delicacies for it I'm more tempted to do try some and as a blogger I tried few also.Yesterday for after school snack I tried this murukku/chakli and it was so tasty to munch with tea.Do try this easy snack for festival or day to day and relish it.
Preparation time: 10 mins
cooking time: under 30 mins:

  • salt- to taste

Method:

1.Measure wheat flour in a muslin cloth, tie it and steam it in idli pan. After about 8-10 mins switch off, open the cloth and transfer to a plate. Some big cake pieces of flour will be formed.Break it all with hand.

2.Sieve the cooked flour. To it add red chilly powder, jeera, hing powder,butter/vanaspati,salt and mix well first. Then add water and make a non sticky dough.

3.Fill the chakli presser with the prepared dough and press it on paper or back of ladle.Fry them on hot oil till it is fried well.Drain excess oil .Repeat the same for all  dough.
