Paneer Tikka | Tandoori Paneer (Indian cottage cheese) Tikka using oven


This is the first grilled recipe i"m posting in my blog also the first one i am making after i brought my OTG . My daughter loved it very much,its very easy to make try once.



Preparation time:15 mins
Marinating time:1 hour to overnight
Grilling time:25-30 mins

Ingredients:

  • Paneer/Indian cottage cheese- 200gms
  • greek yogurt/hung curd-1 cup
  • big onion-2
  • tomato-2,medium sized
  • Capsicum-1
  • ginger garlic paste-2 tsp
  • red chilly powder-1 tsp
  • tandoori masala/barbeque masala-2 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • oil to brush


For serving

  • Green chutney
  • Chat masala
  • lemon juice

Method:

1.Clean the paneer and cut it in to cubes.To the thick curd add chilly powder,barbeque masala powder,salt,ginger garlic paste and mix well.

2.Cut onion ,tomato and capsicum in form of cubes.Mix the paneer,onion,tomato and bell pepper in the marinate curd mix.Make sure you marinate each pieces and keep it refrigerated for at least 1 hour.



3.Prepare the baking tray.Line it with aluminium foil.Keep the wooden skewer in water for 15 mins(this  avoid burning of it).Pre heat the oven in grill option(top rod ) for 10 mins at 200 deg C.

4.To the wooden skewer arrange paneer,onion,tomato and capsicum don't pack it tightly.Arrange  the stacked skewer in the baking tray and brush oil on top.Grill it for 10-15 mins and then change the sides grill again for 15 mins .



when grilled remove from oven squeeze lemon juice,sprinkle chat masala and serve hot with green chutney.

If you want smooky effect place the grilled skewer on direct flame for few seconds on all sides(be careful as it will catch fire).



Note:

1.If you don't have barbeque/tandoori masala use garam masala.

2.If curd mix is watery add some gram flour.

3.You can use metal skewer too.

4.you can also do the same in tawa.

5.For hung curd tie the curd in muslin cloth and hang it for  a while to remove the water.
