Mushroom Biryani | Biryani Recipe

mushroom biryani

As i have already said Sunday means special menu in our house and yesterday i made this yummy biryani which turned out well.My daughter who is the best critic said ma, its soo tasty.So try this easy biryani and enjoy with kids.



Ingredients:


  • Basmathi rice-1 & 1\2 cup
  • button mushroom-12-14(200gms)
  • Onion,sliced-1 big
  • tomato-1 big
  • green chilly,silted-2
  • Ginger garlic paste-1 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • water-3 cups
  • Ghee+oil-2 tbsp


To grind:


  • mint leaves-1\4 cup
  • coriander leaves-1\4 cup
  • green chilly-1

To marinate


  • curd-1\3 cup
  • Ginger garlic paste-1\2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder-1\4 tsp
  • garam masala-1\4 tsp
  • Salt-1\2 tsp

To season


  • Bay leaf-1
  • cinnamon-1 stick
  • cloves-2
  • cardamon-2
For topping

  • sliced onion
  • Cashew nut &pine nuts
  • ghee to fry them




Method:

1.First grind mint,coriander and green chilly to a paste with some water.

2.Clean the mushroom and  cut each into four pieces.Then in  bowl add all ingredients under "to marinate" with 1\2 tsp of ground paste and mix well.Let it sit for an hour.


3.Wash and soak rice in water for 10-15 mins.

4.Heat oil+ ghee in pan( i used my electric rice cooker).Season it with all items under "to season".Then add onion & green chilly and saute till it becomes translucent.

5.Then add ginger garlic paste & saute till raw smell goes.Add in a tsp of ground paste and saute a while.

6.Take a tomato in a mixer and puree it.Add that to the cooker and mix for a while.


7.Then add the marinated mushroom,rice and water.Check for salt & add.Close and wait till it is done.





8.Fry onion,cashew nut and pine nuts in ghee.Garnish with it .

Serve hot with simple onion raita.





Note:

1,You can add half water and half coconut milk.
2.I used  my rice cooker for it you can even use ordinary cooker.
