Poondu/Garlic Kuzhambu- Onion garlic gravy | Easy gravy for rice


This is one of the easiest kuzhumbu which can be made in jiffy.The ingredients needed for it will be in ur pantry for sure.Try out this easy gravy.





Ingredients:


  • 1\2 cup shallot/pearl onion/small onion
  • 3\4  cup  garlic pearls
  • Tamarind- small lemon size
  • Sambar powder- 2 tbsp( or red chilly and corriander powder)
  • Turmeric powder- 1\4 tsp
  • Salt to taste


To temper:


  • Oil-3 tsp
  • Mustard- 1\2 tsp
  • Methi/fenugreek seeds- 1\4 tsp
  • Hing powder-1\4 tsp
  • Curry leaves





Method:

1.Soak tamarind in water and extract juice of it.

2.Heat oil in a kadai and add tempering items under " to temper" followed by onion and garlic.

3.Saute it till it turns golden brown.

4.Add the powders ,salt and tamarind juice,bring to boil.

5.Keep in low-medium flame till it thicken and oil separates.

Serve for hot steamed rice.
