Plantain stem with moongdal | Vazhaithandu- pasi parrupu kootu




Plantain stem/ vazhaithandu is very good for health. It removes stones from kidney. For weight water if you  drink the juice made by blending & filtering it empty stomach you can see amazing result soon.Eat this stem at least once in a week.
Preparation time: 20 mins
cooking time: 10 mins
serves: 2-3

Ingredients:

  • Plantain stem-1
  • moong dal-2-3 tbsp
  • turmeric powder-little
  • green chilli-1
  • onion-1
  • garlic-5 pods
  • salt-to-taste
  • oil-2 tsp
  • mustard- to temper
  • curry leaf- a spring
  • grated coconut-2 tbsp ( optional)



Method:

1.wash and soak moong dal for 10 min.

2.Cut plantain stem into small cubes ,while cutting thread like thing come out remove all.put in water to avoid from getting black.

3.Heat oil in a kadai ,pop out mustard followed garlic,onion green chilly &curry leaf.saute for some time.
4.Then add soaked & drained dal & stem cubes.Add turmeric powder & salt. Just sprinkle very little water.cover and cook for few minutes.

5.In about 8-10 minutes it will be done.If  using coconut switch off and add to it.


Serve as side for rice.
